A History of Passion and Tradition since 1959
The Bortolussi Family has carried out a hospitality project since 1959. This is a story characterized by tradition and passion.
Right in 1959 Duilio Bortolussi with his wife and his 3 sons came back direct from Venezuela. They arrived in Caorle, where tourism had just started. So, he decided to open a trattoria with few rooms and with a familiar and spartan service in order to welcome those who came in Caorle and had no accommodation.
This decision was made also thanks to the support of his wife, Vittorina: she was the milestone of the whole family and of the local cuisine, that she handled masterfully.
The curiosity of both, the culinary passion and the numerous sleepless nights spent creating new recipes led to the first great goal: they won the first prize of the first edition of “Fogher d’oro” in 1966. This was just the first of a long list of prizes and honours.
The restaurant became a guarantee, a security of “good food” and from here it was decided to aim hight.
In 1973, with a renovation, the out-and-out Duilio Restaurant and Diplomatic Hotel with its 40 rooms were founded. The restaurant has remained a meeting point for fish lovers over the years.
The years went by and we get to our days. In 2017, with an impressive renovation project, AQA Palace Hotel was built on the same foundations of Diplomatic Hotel. The glimpse is oriented to the future: new ideas from the youngest of the family bloom, the obtained this legacy and wanted to expand it. The number of rooms increases, the room typologies changes and the level of the service becomes higher but at the same time the want to keep the familiar atmosphere that characterized the hotel during the years. Today AQA Palace Hotel is a combination between past and present, tradition and innovation that blend to create unforgettable emotions and unique stays for those who chose us.
